TCCA Moved to New BuildingWe are very happy to announce that we purchased the building in 291 Broadway, Menands on February 18th 2010. This building has two floors (no basement), with adequate space (5500 sq-ft) for TCCA activities. We will use the first floor of the building for educational and tutoring activities, and the second floor for cultural activities. We would like to thank Village of Menands officials and board of trustees for reviewing and accepting our “Special Use Permit” application. We would also like to thank Colonie fire department for reviewing our fire safety upgrade plans. We have upgraded the fire safety system of the building, and setup a fire monitoring system to achieve educational grade fire safety. We would like to thank Adnan Baykal for replacing and upgrading parts of the old fire safety system.
Fundraising Events and TCCA finances
Turkish Cultural Center Albany sustains it budget mostly by donations. In 2009, TCCA organized 2 fundraising events to raise funds to purchase a building for its cultural and educational activities. 5500 sq-ft building provides enough room for the existing and future activities. Over long term, having our own building will significantly reduce our operational costs, hence will give us the opportunity of steady growth.
Federal Tax Exemption ApprovedTCCA was incorporated as a not for profit organization.
